Qualitative methods were applied with observation, in-depth interviews, and thematic analysis of actively engaged participants. Results show that positive emotions, such as enthusiasm and curiosity, play an important role in facilitating cognitive processing and encouraging collaborative participation. Negative emotions, on the other hand, can be a barrier, requiring appropriate emotion management strategies. The practical implication is the importance of affective learning design to improve motivation and sentence comprehension performance.
Ade Fitria Fatimah Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Psycho Linguistics 2025-07-24 2025-07-24 1 2 73 86 10.59784/jpl.v1i2.6 The Relationship Between Linguistic Anxiety and Lexical Search Speed in Official Communication https://jpl.staiku.ac.id/index.php/Jpl/article/view/7
This study highlights the relationship between linguistic anxiety and lexical search speed in formal communication. The background of the study shows that formal situations often trigger anxiety, which results in slow vocabulary selection and long speech pauses. Qualitative methods were used through observation, interviews, and thematic analysis of employees of government agencies and multinational companies. Results showed a correlation between high levels of anxiety and decreased word search efficiency, hindering communication fluency. The practical implication is the importance of integrated anxiety management and language training, so that individuals can be more confident and effective when dealing with the demands of formality.
Siti Munawaroh Irma Nuraeni Salsabila Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Psycho Linguistics 2025-07-24 2025-07-24 1 2 87 99 10.59784/jpl.v1i2.7 Effectiveness of Written vs. Oral Corrective Feedback in Syntactic Structure Mastery https://jpl.staiku.ac.id/index.php/Jpl/article/view/8
This study explores the effectiveness of written and oral corrective feedback in improving mastery of syntactic structures. The background of the study emphasizes the need for correction strategies capable of helping students understand and apply grammar accurately. Qualitative methods were used through observations, interviews, and document analysis to analyze students' responses to both types of feedback. Results show that written feedback provides a permanent reference that can be reviewed repeatedly, while oral feedback encourages instant correction and interactive discussion. The implication is that teachers should combine the two methods so that students get a combination of detailed explanations and immediate corrections, while considering students' motivation and comfort factors in receiving corrections.
Fatih Humam Ramadhan Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Psycho Linguistics 2025-07-24 2025-07-24 1 2 100 114 10.59784/jpl.v1i2.8 Development of Toddler Lexical Competence: Environmental Factors vs. Biological Predispositions https://jpl.staiku.ac.id/index.php/Jpl/article/view/9
This study addresses the role of environmental factors and biological predisposition in the development of toddlers' lexical competence. The background of the study highlights that 1-5 years is a crucial period for children to absorb vocabulary, but the level of success is often influenced by genetic variables and the intensity of verbal interaction. The method used is qualitative with participatory observation, parent interviews, and collection of daily records to map the dynamics of vocabulary learning. The results show a synergy between innate potential and communication-rich environments, where high genetic potential children are further helped by stimulation, while low potential children can catch up through intense interaction. The implication is that an integrated approach that aligns biological characteristics and environmental support is expected to maximize early language development.
Irfan Azis Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Psycho Linguistics 2025-07-24 2025-07-24 1 2 115 124 10.59784/jpl.v1i2.9 Prosody Analysis to Recognize Speech Disorders among the Elderly https://jpl.staiku.ac.id/index.php/Jpl/article/view/10
This study explores prosodic analysis as a method to recognize speech impairment in the elderly. The background shows that physiological and neurological changes often affect intonation patterns, rhythm, intensity, and vocal quality, thus impacting communication fluency. The method used was qualitative with in vivo voice recording, interviews, and signal analysis using sound processing software. The results found a decrease in pitch frequency range, slowness of speech rhythm, and decreased voice intensity, indicating a decline in phonation function among the elderly. The implication is that the prosodic approach can be an early screening tool, enabling more appropriate clinical and speech therapy interventions to maintain the quality of life of the elderly.

Cecep Agus Nur Alifah Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Psycho Linguistics 2025-07-24 2025-07-24 1 2 125 137 10.59784/jpl.v1i2.10
